FlyGlobespan Expands Routes ... And Loses Etops Certification
Friday October 19, 2007
Scottish budget airline FlyGlobespan has just announced new transatlantic routes - connecting Dublin to Calgary and Vancouver. This news item was, however, overshadowed by the same airline losing its Etops certificate last Friday. This in effect means that the flights from Knock to Boston and New York will have to be re-routed. FlyGlobespan can thus no longer take the shortest route and passengers face delays of up to an hour.
Earlier this year FlyGlobespan hit the headlines when passengers waiting to fly to Knock were left stranded in New York for about a week. This fiasco was partly blamed on a terror attack at Glasgow Airport - a move that did not convince totally.
