Midweek Meanderings - On Castles

You may have notices that I just included a list of Irish castles on this site ... castles you should see, if the medieval world appeals to you at all. But Ireland isn't necessarily the country with the most exciting castles of them all. The Krak des Chevaliers, the Marksburg or the Welsh castles have me more impressed. Let alone those Japanese castles ...

So, where would you find out more about castles? Here we go:

• finally Shizuko Mishima, About.com Guide to Japan Travel, has a fine listing of Japanese castles ... for which I always held a soft spot.
