Bluebell Time in Ireland!
Monday April 27, 2009
We might be mistaken, but both Herself and I think that we spotted a few swallows here in rural Cavan. Might they be the heralds of a summer? After last year's dismal mid-year months (I hesitate to even use the word "summer" here) it would be nice. But I digress - a sure sign of spring slowly seguing into summer are the bluebells. And in Dublin a quick look at the Huguenot Cemetery in Merrion Row confirms that we are heading for the warmer days. Photographic proof on the left.
This weekend's Travel section of the "Sunday Times" has, however, highlighted Mount Stewart in County Down as one of the best places to go bluebell-spotting. The National Trust property is a perennial favorite with gardeners anyway ...
