I do like unusual city tours. York ... what better way to experience this great city than to join a "Ghost Walk" (guided by Jack the Ripper's slightly mad cousin)? London had me hopping on a regular doubledecker and see where it takes me (it was the back of beyond and the driver asked me whether I'd not rather join him for the run to the depot instead of getting out). Moscow is great on the underground (as the stations are a sight in themselves). In Hamburg, walk through the old Elbe tunnel and then use the waterbuses ...

And amongst the several tours around Dublin City, nothing is more unusual than the Viking Splash Tour. Drive around the streets broad and narrow in a massive "duck" (or rather DUKW) that might have seen action on the sands of Iwo Jima. And take a splash into the Grand Canal. The superstructure might get in the way when taking a photo, that's true ... but sometimes fun is worth small sacrifices! By the way ... the crew encourage you to glower down at lesser mortals in true Viking style. Part of the fun too. And so is letting go of martial roars at every second corner.
