Crime - Yes, in Ireland Too!

Occasionally I come across websites that boldly declare, that crime in Ireland is not a problem. Or even non-existent.  The first statement has some truth in it, the second one is utter drivel. The naked truth: Crime has become a common thing in Ireland, esepcailly crimes against the person seem to be on a constant rise. Now the good news ... tourists should not be too worried.

To be blunt: If you use your brain and some common sense, you'll be okay.

If you go to a mall in Dallas, would you leave your car unlocked while shopping? No, you wouldn't - then why would you expect that you can leave your rental car unlocked while you go exploring in Dublin? Just be as careful as ever and everything should pan out fine.

Just in case you need to fresh up your memory on common sense crime prevention, here are some hints on safe travel in Ireland.
