Aer Arann, providing mostly inner-Irish routes with turboprop planes, but also some connections off the island, is in turbulences. Ireland's smallest airline has been haemorrhaging money for some time and recently announced the loss of some services too. Now it has entered voluntary examinership.
What does this mean?
First of all - nothing to passengers at the moment! But it offers Aer Arann a measure of protection from creditors while establishing a strategy for survival. Already several parties have expressed an interest in the airline, so things are looking not too glum. Let's keep our fingers crossed for them!
