Navan Fort is a puzzler ... quite a number of people turn up in the frankly bland town of Navan (County Meath) to have a look at it. But despite the name it is not there. It is in County Armagh, a bit further north. But well worth the extra mile you'll have to drive if you headed for Navan first. Why? Well, Navan Fort or Emain Macha was one of the most important places of Celtic Ireland ... though today you'll be hard pressed to realize this.
