So, you think today's roads in Ireland are bad? Look at the Corleas Trackway and you'll revise quickly. It must have been a bumpy ride through the bog on this wooden causeway. From where to where we do not know. And we also fail to find out why the road was built at all. And who exactly built it. But: At its time the Corlea Trackway was a construction that would have rivalled many better known monuments. The effort the constructors went into were enormous. And it might have been "just" a ritual thing ... not a highway to get through the bogs quicker and drier.
