Belavia

By Bernd Biege, About.com

Belavia - Who Are They?

Belavia is one of the lesser-known airlines, despite being flag carrier of a large European state, namely Belarus. It is the continuation of the former local Aeroflot division. Their Irish flights were under threat of being dropped in 2007, but the company decided to keep the lnk running.

What Services does Belavia Provide?

A not-too-frequent scheduled service between Shannon and Minsk - though the Irish website of Belavia seems to suggests flying to Moscow or the USA with them.

Which of Ireland's Airports Are Serviced by Belavia?

Shannon Airport.

What International Airports Does Belavia Connect To?

Minsk.

Belavia's Fleet - What Planes Can You Expect?

Belavia uses a Bombardier CRJ–100LR on the route.

Can You Expect Problems With Belavia?

Not with Belavia as such (though customer service can apparently be patchy), but the occasional tendency of the Belarus government to change rules and regulations at short notice and without apparent logic can make for interesting traveling. Then again most travelers actually using Belavia will be quite used to this.
