The Crawford Municipal Art Gallery on Emmet Place is Cork's largest gallery. Housed in a 1724 building of limestone and red brick, originally serving as a customs house and also art school.
Today, the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery has a fine collection of Irish art to rival other galleries in Ireland. One highlight is the collection of works by Jack B. Yeats (1871-1957), one of Ireland's greatest artists. It is complemented by a small, but interesting collection of international artists. Works by Miro and Rouault are on display.
You'll also find a restaurant at the Crawford Municipal Art Gallery, the menu is appetizing and the cooking is of high standard.
