Caving in Belcoo
Spelunking and Potholing in County Fermanagh

By , About.com Guide

Caving in Belcoo is the more adventurous counterpart to simply visiting the nearby Marble Arch Caves ... you actually go spelunking on foot, hands, knees and occasionally your belly. Experienced guides will help you along, find the best route for your ability (and size) and, finally, know the way out again.

If you want to kick-start a new hobby and see yourself as an intrepid explorer, why not inner earth?

Funnily enough some caves at Belcoo used to be visitor’s caves, open to the general public and provided with hewn steps. But no visitor cave will rival the experience of exploring subterranean spaces at your own pace and with considerably more effort involved. You might get hooked!

Further Information:

For a start in caving, contact the Corralea Activity Centre, which runs tours of both wet and dry caves.

General information on caving, potholing and spelunking in Ireland is provided by two excellent websites: www.ukcaves.co.uk and www. caving.ie.
