Rothe House in Kilkenny was built between 1594 and 1610 and is a typical merchant's house in the Elizabethan style, complete with two rear yards.
Today it serves as the City and County Museum of Kilkenny and has been partly restored, complete with period furniture, a huge kitchen, a bakery and a brewery. Well worth a visit if you want to explore local history.
