Wakeboarding in Summerhill
County Meath

By , About.com Guide

Wakeboarding in Summerhill is an outdoor activity for those who are agile and not afraid to get wet ... very wet. Combining the essentials of water-skiing with snowboarding elements and a pinch of Hawaiian style surfing while being towed across the water of a smallish lake at around twenty miles per hour certainly is a challenge. But also great fun (far participants and spectators alike).

In Summerhill an old quarry was filled by a spring accidentally discovered while digging into the earth – and this man-made lake is now the Irish Aquatic Sports Centre (IASC). Two speedboats are available for all sorts of fun – apart from wakeboarding you may also dare a ride on a “banana boat” (an inflatable looking like ... you guessed it) or a simple inflatable tube. Less demanding, equally wet.
