You have to be a railroad buff or seriously interested in peat bogs to make your way here. But if you can spare the time make sure to ride on the Clonmacnoise and West Offaly Railway and explore the small exhibition on bog history.

The Irish Game and Country Fair at Birr Castle (County Offaly) is a perfect way to discover life in the Irish countryside. Or at least the lifestyle promoted for the genteel Irish countryside. A great day out anyway.
