Climbing with high ropes will be the easiest (and safest) way to attempt mountain climbing in Ireland by cutting out the mountain and presenting the climber with artificial challenges. Challenges that are not to be scorned and will test individual abilities, stamina and nerves. How about standing on top of a swaying telegraph pole? Not alone ... with five others, that is ...
Basically high rope climbing is a mixture of classical mountain climbing techniques with an assault course and the treescape of a classic Tarzan movie, minus tropical temperatures and friendly apes. Great training for mountaineers, exciting challenge for those tired of bungee-jumping, not recommended for fellow sufferers of vertigo.
