What is the Shelbourne Hotel Like?

Considered to be the grande dame of Dublin's hotels, the Shelbourne is old and historic - having been used in the fighting during the Easter Rising of 1916. It has been renovated extensively during the last few months and thus has a brand-new feeling about it on the inside. The outside still has the grandiose splendor of "auld Dublin", complete with Nubian princesses holding torches. Many of the 265 well-appointed rooms and 22 suites have views of St. Stephen's Green.

Location of the Shelbourne Hotel

On the north-eastern corner of St. Stephen's Green - it does not get much more central in Dublin. Excellent public transport connections are a given, but bringing a car is not advised.

The Shelbourne Hotel is Recommended for ...

Anybody wanting to explore Dublin City to the max and at the same time stay in luxury and comfort.
