In August 2007 a bunch of intrepid seafarers arrived in Dublin and made quarter for the winter - on board the Havhingsten fra Glendalough (Sea Stallion from Glendalough), a replica Viking longboat. The ship had been sailed and rowed over a period of 42 days from Roskilde in Denmark to Dublin, roughly a thousand years after the original was built.
