Skiing and snowboarding are not the sports most people would associate with Ireland, and Kilternan in County Dublin is an unlikely alpine resort. Yet there you go ... four slopes and two ski lifts await you. Actually a visit should be mandatory for many budding Irish skiers before they head off to more challenging areas, only to return in a plaster cast.
To be fair I have yet to hear of anybody who came to Ireland to pursue alpine sports, but it might be a fun idea if you spend some time in Dublin. After all, who can boast that he mastered the longest and most challenging ski slope in Ireland without accident ... all 180 meters of it?
Further Information:
The season runs from September to April and classes for beginners are provided. Contact the Ski Club of Ireland for further details.
