Bram Stoker is maybe Dublin's most successful literary export ... at least if you rely on common knowledge. Everybody knows (though not necessarily has read) Dracula.

Who was Bram Stoker?
Abraham Stoker, shortened first name Bram, was born in Dublin and chose the highly unadventurous career of a civil servant. Always nursing a fondness for the theatre, Stoker chucked in his job in 1879 to become acting manager of Shakespearean actor Henry Irving. At this time he was already writing in his spare time.
In 1897 Stoker hit the publishing jackpot with his supernatural thriller Dracula, a rewriting of vampire lore in an unusual format that conjured authenticity by relying on diary entries, letters and excerpts from other writings.
