Connecting Flights - Not a Bad Idea
Why You Should Consider Booking a Non-Direct Flight

Direct flights from the USA and Canada to Ireland depart from a number of airports. They may be more expensive than an indirect flight requiring a change of planes en route. But they are quick and efficient. And these direct flights will get you straight into Belfast, Dublin or Shannon.

If you are however not pressed for time you should consider the indirect flights on offer. Most of these will be with major European or US carriers using the hubs east of Ireland. Why not experience another aspect of European life, if the carrier allows a stop-over at these hubs? Some examples:

  • British Airways will use London as a hub, either via Gatwick oder Heathrow Airport - why not spent a few nights in London?
  • Air France will more than likely take you via Paris - again a good chance to spend some time here.
  • Similarly Lufthansa will fly via Frankfurt or KLM via Amsterdam, both historic cities well worth a visit.

If you have the time to stop even for two nights at these places, your holiday will become even more rewarding.
