Let’s talk about appearances first – the Kinlay House is maybe the only hostel in Dublin that provides a much-photographed picture postcard image. Housed in an extensively renovated red brick building next to Christchurch Cathedral it simply looks good. A convenient city center location if anything.
The hostel has a variety of accommodation from private rooms with ensuite facilities to larger dorms, all are clean and of reasonable standard. Guests under 16 years of age are not accepted in the dorms and have to share a private room with an adult – the noise level profits from this.
Recommended?
Yes – great location, all modern amenities, free breakfast, free WiFi, what more can you ask for? And Temple Bar is only a short stroll downhill away (it is an uphill struggle back to the Kinlay House, but never mind that.)
