After a hearty breakfast, maybe a good "Ulster Fry", find your bearings in Enniskillen and take the A32 northwards. After a few miles you will come to a recently rebuilt crossing at a petrol station (to your left). You’ll really have to be awake by now to spot the signpost for the Devenish Island ferry - it refers to a small country lane just behind the petrol station. Blink and you miss it!

Take a left turn into this local road and proceed downhill to the Devenish Island Ferry. The last few hundred yards are steep, brake early and use a low gear, taking a left turn at the lakeside.

The ferry to Devenish Island leaves during the main season at 10:00, 13:00, 15:00 and 17:00. plan around two hours if you want to actually visit the island with its stunning round tower. Otherwise enjoy the view across Lough Erne from the jetty over to the round tower.

After this drive back to the main road - maybe fill your car with gas here. Then turn left and immediately take the B82 forking left, signposted for St. Angelo Airport.

We'll now head on to the Castle Archdale Country Park ...
