Once you are rejoining the A46 it is time to get your bearings and head for Tully Castle. Now you really will learn to cherish the map you brought, though it is highly likely that turning left on the A46 will bring you to Tully Bay and then Tully Castle. The castle is signposted at the last possible moment, requiring you to turn into a country lane and head towards Lough Erne.
Park at the fairly spacious car park and walk up to this well-preserved ruin of a "plantation castle". If you have kids with you let them play a bit of hide and seek here.
After visiting Tully Castle head eastwards again on the A46 towards Enniskillen - but turn right following signs for Monea Castle as soon as you see them. A winding road will take you to the most spectacular plantation castle of them all, a Scottish-inspired stronghold that might not be out of place in a fairy tale (or, come to that, a very dark gothic tale). Again kids will love to explore the nooks and crannies here. And be suitably exhausted afterwards.
Time to make our way back to Enniskillen ...
