What is Dublin Airport Like?

Crowded at the best of times, positively claustrophobic during peak travel times, Dublin Airport has been too small for the passenger numbers handled for some time now. This results in queues, milling throngs of fellow passengers and all sorts of associated problems. While the terminal building has been substantially modernized and gates have been added in the last decade, using Dublin Airport is not always a pleasant experience. Passenger facilities, from restaurants to shopping, are numerous - but again can suffer from overcrowding.

How to Get to Dublin Airport

  • By Car
Located near the interchange between the M50 and the M1, signposted from Dublin City and locally.
  • By Bus
Several bus services both locally and nationally – see the Dublin Airportr website for a comprehensive list.
  • By Train
The nearest rail stations are in Dublin proper - none within walking distance, but connected to the airport by bus services serving the city center.

Destinations Served from Dublin Airport

  • Ireland – Cork, Derry, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Knock, Shannon and Sligo.
  • Europe – Numerous destinations including the capitals Berlin, Brussels, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Helsinki, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Oslo, Paris, Riga, Rome, Stockholm, Vienna and Vilnius.
